TOP STREAM 32.0Kbps (14 Khz) PD Profile: WAPE Jacksonville, FL 1972 (09:21) . . . and a voice spoke to him in the night, and said, Make a Joyful Noise, and ye shall be evicted . . .
This was featured on Volume 1, Issue 10 of Programmers's Digest, dated December 10, 1972, but published and copyrighted in early 1973. It is an outstanding composite aircheck of WAPE, Jacksonville, in late 1972, and is introduced by Brian Taylor, who was at WMAK in Nashville at the time.
Bill Burkett was Program Director. He is featured, and so are Listen as somebody lays the solo drum intro of Superstition over the end of the Chevrolet spot AND the shotgun jingle! And every edit is perfect, this thing never stops from beginning to end, and every bit works. I'm sure that portions of this aircheck have appeared elsewhere because this is one of the most perfect composites of Top 40 radio I've ever heard. This was encoded from the original vinyl release.
