TOP STREAM 32Kbps (10 Khz) PD Article: Drake Lightning Strikes Twice? - K-100 1973 (10:02) . . . K-100 50,000 horses with a name . . . From Programmer's Digest, Volume 2, Issue 12 (December 17, 1973): This technically-challenged composite of the first five days of K-100 (Los Angeles, CA.) is complete with cassette-skim-sounds, traveling alignment and just plain miserable audio fidelity. OK, I spent a little time to at least make it intelligible and remove the clicks and rumble and surface noise. This came from the original vinyl. And yet, there are some classic bits with Robert W. Morgan and The Real Don Steele. I suspect that some of this material has appeared elsewhere, over the years. Some of it sounds familiar. But some of it is unduplicated elsewhere, like the community college wunderkind who attempts an imitation of a RDS Fractious Friday sign-off. As I have noted before, I'm still waiting for the ultimate hi-fi aircheck of K-100. There don't seem to be any! |
