Dan Ingram, WIL St. Louis 1960 Composite (53:36) | |
. . . I'll be around when he's gone - that's what my engineers said when I came to work here . . . [DESCRIPTION BY UNCLE RICKY] This deliciously hi-fi ('scoped) composite of Big Dan Ingram on Wonderful WIL begins with Dan filling in for Jack Carney in the Spring of 1960, and cuts to The Ingram Flingram in August, 1960. The exhibit closes with Bud Clark and MinuteMan news from October, 1960 (and the Weather Ball was flashing blue.) This exhibit is loaded with classic commercials, (including Mr. Magoo), early PAMS jingles, snippets of the era's goofy hit records, and lots of the irrepressible Mr. Ingram.Whether recorded, scripted, ad-libbing, singing or barking, this 2007 Radio Hall of Fame inductee was ready for his close-up years before he arrived in New York.
