Wolfman Jack and "Big Al Douglas" (Doug Allen Wedge), 1970's |
Back in the '70's, Doug Allen Wedge did anything to be around radio and was known as Big Al Douglas on WBET AM & FM in Brockton, MA. In the '90's, Doug was known as Doug Allen, and did a live request show, Friday Night Live at The Oldies. Doug has been an avid collector of radio jingles and Wolfman Jack stuff, "right from the start." He began by rescuing old tapes sent to the station. In recent years, Doug has operated the official Wolfman Jack Online Museum site at http://www.wolfmanjack.org. |

Wolfman Jack, WNBC New York, November 1984 (01:17:11) . . . Alright, I'm ready gang, it's twelve midnight . . . This exhibit is overprocessed and distorted, and that's the way it is. But it is a great capture of the best of Wolfman Jack on WNBC, after midnight, in December, 1984. Wolfman Jack's Graffiti Gold is on the air, baby, and WNBC sounded really good at this time, and Wolfman is at his best, playing some early R&B and recent oldies and current hits and having fun this was Wolfman! Just imagine it cool and smooth, without the distortion. |
