| Arbitron® surveys rely on recall. Participants, selected by a geographic and demographic model, are asked to keep a written record of their listening. Typically, one respondent represents thousands of "estimated" listeners. A predictable sample size will produce estimates with a known statistically acceptable "level of confidence." | |
|
Unlike radio, we don't have to "estimate" the number of listeners or rely upon
the recall of randomly selected survey participants. Every Real Audio file that
is streamed by the server is recorded in the server logs.
|
Our "survey participants" choose to participate if they have RealPlayer 3.0 or better, and have checked the "Send statistics to content provider" box under "Preferences/Connection" on their Real Audio players. |
