C.J. Stone is featured on this recording of late afternoon drive on KXOA/1470 in Sacramento, California. This 5KW station challenged 1KW market leader KROY/1240 for many years, and was known as KNDE (Candy) for a time in the 70's.

Terry Nelson was the PD during this time.

This is tight 1980's CHR - no fat, no fluff, no jingles - hit music with a friendly personality, and a healthy spot load. Advertising on the station was sold "in combo" with the hugely successful Adult Contemporary K-108 (KXOA-FM), and 1470 had some respectable numbers of their own.
