TOP STREAM 32Kbps (11KHz) Ted Richards, CKLW Windsor-Detroit, 1973 (01:12:52) . . . My name is Ted Richards, my business is to boogie . . . [Description by Uncle Ricky] Contributor Greg Ogonowski says it's appropriate to stand whenever you hear The Johnny Mann Singers and the CKLW logo. With that in mind, you'll be upright many times during this 72-minute off-air sample of Ted Richards from a Saturday in 1973. Ted and a spot follow almost every record! Somehow, this is more listenable than the mega-unit stopsets of today and those long "music sweeps" with no interruption or personality. This exhibit was made off-the-air, with just a small amount of atmospheric interference near the beginning. The tape was a bit munched at one point, but nearly all of it is intact otherwise. There's not too much unfamiliar Canadian Content, and a few great oldies, too. |
