Our thanks to Steven Kitzman for this exclusive recording of Ron "King B" Britain. |
TOP STREAM 64Kbps (13KHz STEREO) Ron Britain, WJMK-FM Chicago, November 1984 (45:27) . . . eidted for radio by Roger Sharp and Scissors Malone . . . [Description by Uncle Ricky] 'King B' Ron Britain (ex-WSAI, WHK, WCFL) is heard in afternoon drive on Chicago's Magic 104, WJMK-FM. There's only one "imager" and one jingle in this 45 minutes, but lots of Britain. The board work is decidely uneven, leading us to believe Mr. Britain was running his own gear, and not totally comfortable doing so. Otherwise, this is not your time and temperature jock - King B is using drops like it's 1960-something, and he even features a special "edited for modern radio" episode of Mandrake The Magician. According to 440 Satisfaction, Britain left radio in 2003, and is enjoying his retirement in Louisville, Kentucky. |
