. . . in 1922, a new radio station began broadcasting to the residents of Southern California . . .

[Description by Uncle Ricky]

Is it any different today? KHJ is still broadcasting to the residents of Southern California - or, at least, to those who speak Spanish as their primary language.

For those who can't sit still for Spanish, you may start with the English language announcement by Jerry Lewine, C.E. at KKHJ (now, once again, KHJ). We are fortunate that Jerry was in a position to recognize the history of the call letters. He got 50% (the English part) of the total "new call letters" promo time and did it well.

Jerry has contributed additional items from the KHJ archives and these will be appearing in future Repository exhibits.
