Our thanks to Famous Amos (Russ Dibello) for this exhibit. Famous, of course, is one of the finest broadcasters anyone could possibly know. It's a privilege to speak well of him. |
TOP STREAM 64Kbps (13KHz) Bill Brown, WCBS-FM New York, 1980 (06:23) . . . We might even pause for a little dally in the galley . . . [Contributed by The Amazing Famous Amos. Description by Uncle Ricky] This 'scoped aircheck of Bill Brown captures the WCBS-FM veteran about ten years into his 36-year run. Brown stayed with the Golden 101 right up until the end, and had the last word on June 3, 2005, when the station made an ill-fated change to the Jack format. Bill Brown passed away October 9, 2011, following a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, his son, a daughter-in-law and two granddaughters. Bill took great pride in his son's accomplishments as a composer/film scorer. CSI:NY is among his many credits. |
