Tom Maule returned to Los Angeles (from KFRC San Francisco) and, compared to his brief stint at KHJ, enjoyed a pretty good run at KDAY (1580) in Santa Monica. The station at that time was programmed by the innovative Bob Wilson and featured, in addition to Maule, Ed Hider, Sam Riddle (fresh from KHJ), Nathan Roberts and the late, great B. Bailey Brown in morning drive.

Here KDAY "doubles the gold" on this oldies-heavy Friday afternoon. My friend Jeffrey Leonard was thoughtful enough to roll tape on a very upbeat Tom Maule that day.
