. . . What do you MEAN make an appointment? Love Won't Let Me Wait . . . [Description by Uncle Ricky for this exhibit contributed by Don Jennett] It's Wednesday, June 25, 1975 in Los Angeles, and here's the first hour of Mark Elliot (9-10 AM) on 93 KHJ. Elliot, of course, is better known these days as the familiar voice on Disney movie trailers.
And Mark sounds fabulous here, sandwiched between the hits (and spots) of the day for L.A., spreading the Summer Jam. Bobby Ocean is featured on a promo or two, and Ten years after the birth of Boss, this "little" 5KW station was still making exemplary Top 40 radio and producing serious revenue. Note the Charlie Van Dyke ID: "America's Number One Music Station". Contributor Don Jennett thanks Bob Ballistieri, a Bay Area collector, who originally recorded this aircheck on a visit to L.A. Part 2 is here. |
