[Description by Curt Lundgren]

My parents retired to Florida in 1967, and when I drove down to visit over Christmas that year I brought along the Revere. I'm guessing on the spelling of Al Risen, who was subbing for CTW ("Carl Truman Wigglesworth", thanks to Jay Marks) in afternoon drive on Thursday, December 21, 1967.

REELRADIO pays music licensing fees to present unedited music online. If you enjoy unedited airchecks like this one, your tax-deductible contribution to our operating fund will help keep this and other "unscoped" exhibits available.

Note the interesting spot for "frozen Coca-Cola", apparently being test-marketed in the "Big Lou", and the weather — current temp is 63, low 28, and a tornado watch is in effect. J. Paul Roberts is featured with news, and the FM simulcasting had to be a rarity in those days.

Lee Gray (aka Lee Darling, WMCA, WAKY, KSBJ d. 1996), follows Al on this tape.
