WOR-FM THE BIG TOWN SOUND
Bob Elliot
Bob Elliot, WOR-FM 8PM-12M
The late Bob Elliot, who was also known as K.O. Bayley, is heard on this very good to excellent stereo recording of The Big Town Sound on WOR-FM in January of 1968. Elliot worked at KYNO in Fresno, KEWB in Oakland, and KBLA in Los Angeles just prior to his time at WOR-FM.

It's original Drake all the way, with the big guy himself featured on legendary liners like "The Hits Just Keep On Coming", and "Memories Are Made Of This".
This is a reminder that REELRADIO must pay license and performance fees for the music featured on this unscoped aircheck. Our organization is user-supported. Please contribute ten dollars (or more) now, and enjoy this exhibit!

And, as Bob says, "Be ready with your tweeters and woofers, you might hear something you ain't NEVER heard before - Me Too!". There are some genuine goodies here; Million Dollar Music for sure. But, the recording is not without flaws. A short portion of "I Thank You" was reconstructed, and bits of "You've Really Got A Hold On Me" never made it to the encoder. We also suspect that WOR-FM was playing everything from cart. A few songs are too tight at the beginning, and the stereo phase changed frequently with the program content. Still, 72 uncut minutes of WOR-FM of this vintage, in stereo, is a near-miracle. Our thanks again to contributor Wayne Scott.
