[Description by Uncle Ricky] A very young, pre-legendary Buzz Bennett is jocking Sunday midday — and reading news — on WTIX, New Orleans from May 21, 1967. Apparently, just a year before, WTIX had introduced "More Music Radio", and it's Birthday Bash Time this hour, with a custom greeting from Martha of The Vandellas who offers congratuations on the first year of Boss Radio. Buzz sounds a bit "frantic", here, frequently overlapping things. The microphone is a little muddy, and the traditional Storz reverb doesn't help intelligibility. There are a few misfires, too, probably a result of excess nervous energy. Maybe he knew he would be programming in San Diego in a couple of years and was a little excited. It does sound like he heard some tape from Los Angeles, it would be highly unlikely that the Boss Radio moniker was coincidental.
